Esix is a supremely intelligent being, much more so than any insect has a right to be. His "voice" carries a deep, old tone to it, leading one to believe that Esix' intelligence was gained from a great many years experience in life. He gives the impression of being very old, very wise, and very...lecherous. Indeed, Esix has an unhealthy fixation for his unicorn-like companion, and exploits Muse's neediness of him to his own advantage. He has become increasingly possessive of Muse, almost dangerously so, and will do anything within his power to have 'control' over him. He knows full well it hurts Muse when he leaves him, but he does so anyway. Although Esix is terribly cruel toward Muse, he would never permit anyone else to show him anything but kindness or indifference.

Esix has a deep dislike of Inasnath, for the very same reasons she dislikes him. They both want complete and utter control of Muse, and, as Muse cares very deeply for both of them, are incapable of getting it while the other is around.
