Hushaiju and Sakay might not be able to masquerade as the opposite gender (pheromones and all that, you know) so they settle for the next best thing: impersonating each other. They might not be identical twins, but they still milk the game for all it's worth! One thing is for certain, though--they do their darnedest to keep secret which of them really owns which name! Is Sakay the male, or the female? They each respond to both names and erratically switch around the name they refer to the other with, even in private. Perhaps it would be best to name them BOTH Hushaiju-Sakay and be done with it? It's the closest they can come to imitating McKale's own gender-swapping--at least when they're in their natural forms.
Once they're in human form, they assume the semblance of identical twinnage that their natural shapes lack. They each retain their true gender, of course, and but their pale-skinned and white-haired human-forms are androgynous and with the proper attire they can appear a somewhat tomboyish girl or a vaguely effeminate boy. Though they cannot disguise themselves as one gender versus another as distinctly as McKale can (the female can't assume stubble nor can the male produce bosoms), they absolutely excel at dressing as the same gender together and continuing their game of who-is-who.
It should be little surprise, then, that these two will probably live in their human-forms just as soon as they've mastered the trick of maintaining them.
