NEXUS CHRONICLES

A petite girl who enjoys making up her appearance to be viewed as feminine and charming. She has a soft face framed by long brown hair, doe-like blue eyes, and bright lips. She enjoys make-up whenever she can get a hold of it and loves to doll herself up. She takes great pride in her appearance but doesn't typically judge others' on theirs. Despite her young age, she has her fair share of callouses and old scars on her hands, proof that she works hard... even if she tends to flit from job to job.

Elise loves wearing skirts and dresses, the flowier the better, but she keeps her wardrobe practical for weyrlife. Nothing so extravagant that it would impede her movements. She likes soft, comfortable fabrics in equally soft colors. While most of her outfits are neutral toned because it's what's afforded to her, she likes to do her own embroidery and dyeing whenever possible and will choose all manner of bright colors and patterns.

Elise is always ready with a smile and something cheeky to say. She makes certain she's approachable and has a soft, lilting voice.

Elise has an altruistic streak a mile long and cares a great deal about other people. She's outgoing and quick to make friends, especially with newcomers to the weyr and anyone who feels out of sorts in a new environment. She loves to be helpful, but this sometimes leads her to be overly pushy and nosy. She can't stand seeing anyone upset and has a difficult time walking away from an individual who just wants to be left alone. Regardless, if she knows how to cheer someone up, she'll do everything in her power to make that come to fruition. She has no gumption against spending her time, energy, and wages on making other people happy. Elise isn't so naive to leave herself open to be taken advantage of, though. She extends her kindness to those who deserve it, but she neither forgives nor forgets if she's ever been harmed in turn.

Elise's age shows in her behavior. While she wants to be a good, dedicated worker, she's easily distracted by the prospect of fun and games and is most happy when she's surrounded by friends. She's been known to shirk her duties in exchange for fun. She's easily bored with routines and may cause trouble just to entertain herself or garner attention. She hates the weight of responsibility and will shirk under difficult decisions, often shifting hardship onto someone else with a promise to aid and support instead of making a judgement call. Elise can be moody and demanding, but she only wants to take charge when the stakes don't matter.

Elise brims with energy and imagination, she can always find a way to turn a dour situation into an enjoyable one. She loves to entertain flights of fancy and will be the first to race off into places unknown for the fun of it. She's unerringly brave and particularly courageous when she's standing up for someone else. She may be small, but she has no compunctions against playing dirty if it means driving off bullies. She loves bringing cheer and joy wherever she goes and lives life with zestful enthusiasm. She's an attention-seeker who cares deeply about the opinions of others, which molds her do-good attitude. There aren't many things she takes seriously. Why be grumpy when one can have fun instead?

Elise has spent her adolescence drifting from apprenticeship to apprenticeship, uncertain of where her place in the world lies. She has many interests and likes trying new things but has difficulty committing to anything. She's creative and kind, which has led her to testing out various occupations in textile production, weaving, and healer. She has an abundance of low-level skills, but lacks the dedication to really learn the nitty gritty. Her impulsive nature leads her to rush headlong into things before considering consequences and she's apt to get herself caught up in trouble.

Elise was born to a blue-rider father and a green-rider mother. She was fostered by her half-sister's biological mother and raised as a weyrbrat within Shigan weyr.

A precocious and outgoing child, Elise endeared herself to much of the staff in the lower caverns. As a teenager she began apprenticing under anyone who'd have her, but her interests quickly shifted from one occupation to another. She's yet to find the job that suits her best.

While she's never stood at a clutch, she is interested in bonding a dragon, but she doesn't want to do so before her older sister, Dusana, who has been trying for years to impress.

Hermina and Dusana return from Istabitha with a single dragon: Hermina's brown Kalapatith. The trio drift apart because of Hermina's weyrling lessons and a search rider from a different reality of pern visits Shigan weyr.
