Despite his height, Jerram appears welcoming and friendly, with his round face and wide eyes. He has a sturdy, but not imposing, build, and usually wears a smile on his bright face. He has a wide forehead, small chin, and large, dark eyes that are almost always brimming with some sort of mischief. Jerram keeps his tightly curled hair fairly short, but never cropped right to the skin, and he's always clean shaven. (Although, being 16, this may be because he's incapable of growing a beard, but he'd never admit to that.)

Jerram always dresses his best, no matter what activity he's partaking in. He cares a great deal about his appearance and making a good first impression. Crisp line, shining buttons, and pristine clothing are his jam, and he wears warm, sunny colors whenever he can.

Jerram knows exactly what he wants for his future: to become head of the guard in his hold, and he's both smart and driven enough to achieve this. During training, Jerram often takes point and enjoys being given leadership roles. He keeps a level head when faced with external challenges, but has trouble keeping his cool when his teammates question his authority. He doesn't like asking twice and is quick to lose his temper when a peer challenges his decisions. Despite this, he cares deeply about his teammates and wants to see them succeed. He may be ambitious, but not to the extent he's willing to betray his friends.

In order to succeed, Jerram spends a great deal of his time studying strategies, surveying the area around his hold, and practicing his combat skills (especially with Ansen, who's always up for a friendly tussle). He keeps himself to a tight schedule and often sacrifices spending time with friends because of it, but he's got his head in the game and he knows he has to make tough decisions to achieve his goals. Sometimes this means being 'the bad guy' during training exercises, and Jerram takes on this duty with a stiff upper lip.

Jerram has an excellent mind for tactics and he's great at reading people. While he's not boisterous or over-social, he enjoys being in group settings so he can study people. He likes cataloguing ticks and mannerisms, which are all helpful when he needs to suss out a liar or a thief. While Jerram himself is a stickler for the rules, he won't rat out the people he cares about. When he makes poor command decisions, he has trouble admitting his mistakes and is terrified of receiving a bad mark in his training. He'd rather grease palms and let someone else take the fall, than risk losing his position as a shining star amidst the guard trainees.

No siblings, only one uncle on his fathers side, and no cousins.

Born and raised in a minor hold, to middle-class parents.

Friends with Ansen since they were toddlers, as their mothers weave together. The two are constant companions and were always up to mischief during childhood.

Ansen and Jerram decided to join the guards together.
