Unerring loyalty is Josie's greatest personal asset. While he cares very little for anyone outside his team, his love and admiration for his squadmates is beyond inhuman. He would do anything for them, up to and including laying down his own life. He deeply craves affection and is demonstrative in his enjoyment of his squad's company. A physical person, Josie revels in personal touch, whether it be a hug, a pat on the back, or simply sitting next to a team mate while they stare down the barrel of a rifle, awaiting their target's presence. While Josie's violence can't be tamed, he's gentle as a kitten when in the company of those he considers his hive.
Once an adventurous boy, Josie still has a love of exploring the unknown and overturning rocks and logs to see what skitters beneath. He has the ability to be curious without fear of repercussion now, as an adept mercenary and indomitable xenomorph-shifter. When he has spare time, he enjoys pushing the limits of how far he can wander. Never-the-less, Josie is nothing if not reliable, and will return to his team at the softest command.
Josie's courage borders on arrogance, but it's not unearned. He's a deadly machine and will throw himself into battle without hesitation. While he doesn't enjoy pain, he won't shirk from it, and there's very little he truly fears beyond losing his team mates.
When Josie was 12, a violent race of asymmetrical tripod aliens attacked his home colony, destroying most of the inhabitants. Josie was far from the grounds, wandering the forests of burgundy fronds, but the sound of decimation soon reached his ears. He raced home. The colony was ablaze, filled with the screams of the dying. Josie tore across the smoke ridden landscape, searching through rubble and debris for his parents. He reached his home, only to find his mother, dead. Filled with rage he turned toward the feint outline of aliens through the smog, determined to attack them. A hand reached out from the shadows and grabbed him, yanking him out of view. His father. He covered Josie's mouth and held the struggling boy until the fires stopped and the aliens retreated far enough for them to escape. Josie and his father crept aboard one of the least damaged shuttle crafts and took off.
Josie became a violent, angry child, lashing out at anyone that tried to get close to him, his father included. The rest of his childhood was difficult and he drifted into drug use and petty crime to hide his hurt. He had multiple run ins with the law, but his father bailed him out of trouble time and time again. Eventually Josie's volatile nature became too much and he became estranged from his father.
During an attempted break in, Josie was caught by station police and finally charged for his crimes without the possibility of his father coming to his rescue. He was jailed, awaiting trial, when a stranger approached him. A tall, elegant man with a severe face and a cold smile. The man's name was Merete, and he had an offer Josie couldn't refuse: Join the mercenary crew of the Heimdall, and he'd avoid a prison sentence. Josie had nothing to lose and accepted.
Training in the Heimdall was brutal and intense, but Josie reveled in it. The violence was exhilarating. Josie learned to handle guns with ease, but he vastly preferred short range weapons like knives and fists. Anything where he could feel the hurt he was causing, watch it well in a victim's eyes. He was cruel, sometimes pointlessly so, but easy enough for his handlers to control. He gained a reputation as a merciless monster.
When Dr. Krum and his team of geneticists put out a call for volunteers to turn mercenaries into real monsters, Josie didn't hesitate. Josie was one of the few successes. Now infused with xenomorph DNA and possessing the ability to shapeshift into one of the deadly monsters, Josie was an even more effective tool for the Heimdall. But the alteration came with additional side effects. Still ruthless and violent, the hivemind aspect of his xenomorph half gave him a fierce desire to belong to something. To someone. He was placed on a permanent team to relieve this desire, and in doing so, Josie's loyalty to his squadmates is inhumanly strong.

Wall CrawlingIn xenomorph form, he can crawl on sheer surfaces and even upside down.
Acid BloodHe possesses acidic blood that can eat through most material, organic and inorganic. While this is most potent in her xenomorph form, his blood remains acidic even in human form, although much more dilute.
A small crew of Heimdall soldiers are hired to protect a mining operation on the inhospitable ice planet Recorix. Story contains swearing and violence.
