Appearance
While not a particularly tall man, standing at only 5'4", Carrol is no slouch. He's well built, with wide shoulders and thick arms; but rather stubby legs for a guy. He knows he's lacking in the height department, so makes up for it with confrontational posture, legs set wide, arms often crossed, jaw square and jerked up in the air. His hands are rough and calloused from so many years on the job, and he has his fair share of little scars along his limbs.Carrol has a wide brow and square jawline, with no few wrinkles peppering the skin around his eyes, and wrinkling his forehead. His nose is quite large and quite long, made to look even more so by his small, sly eyes. His eyebrows are bushy and he keeps a fair amount of scruff on his jawline and upper lip. His hair is very dark brown, spattered with gray and white around the temples and chin. His eyes, too, are quite dark and hazel-green in color.
Personality
Carrol tells it like it is, as it is, exactly when it happens. Tact is perhaps not his strong suit, but you can be positive he's always telling the truth. You'll never get any pointless flattery out of him. If someone's done good, he lets them know. If they screw up, he makes sure they know that they did, and why, and how to fix it in the future. Carrol also has quite the dirty mouth! His language is rather crass, spattering expletives throughout casual conversation like they were 'it's' and 'the's. He does know how to curb his tongue when he's around the upper classes, but he's not apt to talk politely unless he's got a good reason for it.The job. Saving lives. Upholding the law. Bringing down the criminal scum of the earth. That's Carrol's true passion in life. Anything to make the world a better place, really. He's dedicated to his job and goes above and beyond to do what's needed. He's pretty straight, too. Not the sort of cop that can be bribed or distracted from doing what's right. Carrol works way more hours than he should, but crime never sleeps, so why should he? People depend on him, and he enjoys the thrill of their gratitude.
Carrol is friendly enough, able to get along with most people. He finds it easy to start up casual conversation and has several friendly acquaintances. But he doesn't form deep bonds easily. He'd rather keep his relationships skin deep. He's seen a lot of officers taken down in his line of business. Families torn apart, innocent people murdered, children gone missing. So he prefers not to get involved with the messier side of relationships. Friends are pleasant, but temporary and ultimately unimportant as individuals.
Carrol really, truly, deeply believes in a bright future. He has high hopes for humanity. He wants to see grandiose inventions and beautiful works of art. Humanity is capable of so many awesome feats, has created so many wondrous things. He has a deep seated love for humanity itself, even though he doesn't have much passion for the individual. He'll fight tooth and nail to bring the universe just a little closer to utopia.
