Personality
Shrewd and traditional, Itzel regards off-worlders and non-standard dragons with distaste, and he only vaguely tolerates holdfolk. Born and raised in a weyr around dragonriders, Itzel has great respect for the profession and deeply wishes to fight thread himself. If he can ever manage to peel himself away from keeping his sibling out of trouble long enough to properly stand at a clutch, that is. Perhaps to make up for Nthande's habit of befriending unscrupulous individuals and wandering off into danger, Itzel is cautious, wary, and prickly. Always vigilant to danger, Itzel is unerringly observant and always has back-up plans for his back-up plans. He's the first to note all the exits in a new room and is never found without his guard up.Itzel is a serious, dour fellow who doesn't jump into things until he's gathered every scrap of information he can find. His decision making process is slow and arduous, involving research, experimentation, and self-reflection. He never rushes into anything (unless it involves fishing Nthande out of some nefarious situation). Itzel abhors rashness. Careful examination and plan-making solves the day, always. He'll make an excellent wing rider when (or if) he gets the chance to bond.
Unsurprisingly, Itzel takes a while to warm up to strangers. He has a small circle of friends, carefully vetting and put through their paces before Itzel was willing to let them close to him. He's standoffish, judgmental, and xenophobic toward outsiders.
