Personality
Viciously protective of her family - both blood relatives and the found family she's made within Shigan's walls. Mwanjaa adores children and spends much of her free time with the youngest weyrbrats, to the point where most of them refer to her as their "big sister." Mwanjaa would one day like to have a huge family of her own, but as playful and sociable as she is with the weyr's kids, she's not particularly fond of any other kind of company. She can be surly and brutish toward strangers and takes a great deal of time to warm up to new people. Because of the loss of her parents at a young age, she fears making close connections and lashes out at potential friends.Apart from kids, Mwanjaa's greatest passion is food. She took to Shigan's kitchen like a pro and is an excellent budding chef. She enjoys cooking as much as she loves eating. Her palate is indiscriminate and she's try anything presented to her. She abhors wasting food and can sometimes be quite... experimental with her meal preparations.
History
Mwanjaa's small hold was nearly destroyed by thread before dragon rider's arrived. Most of the fertile farmland was ravaged to the point of desolation and almost all of Mwanjaa's family was caught outside and killed. She was the eldest of her surviving siblings, now orphaned.The dragon rider's who'd rescued her hold expressed guilt for having taken so long to reach them. Despite not being properly "searched", wingleader J'ram agreed to take back any of the young children who'd lost their families. Mwanjaa and her remaining siblings agreed to go with them.
Mwanjaa presently works as a kitchen dredge in Shigan Weyr and has excellent skills as a cook.
