General

The Amuni were created in response to the Euclide, after Yuukuj removed their souls and turned them against humans. Amunuku, one of the original murdon leaders, continued to have hope for humanity and took aside a select few euclide, returning their souls and further altering them to love humans, as he does. He informed them that it was their task in life to defend humans from the euclide, and set them free.

Amuni continue to have a deep respect and love for humanity and have sworn themselves the enemy of euclide. The majority consider it their goal not only to defend humans, but eradicate the euclides subspecies.

Amuni care for humans more than they care for other abyss born.

Amuni spheres are positive and protective in nature.

Amuni are often gregarious among themselves and humans, but xenophobic toward others. They are not generally accepting of outsiders.

Amuni prefer to take permanent mates and have close knit families.

Powers

LIFE SHIELDS

Life shields are entirely unique to the amuni. No other Abyss Born can utilize this ability. A life shield is an invisible aura that can encompass any individual the amuni chooses. The shield protects them from emotional, psychological, and physical harm, rendering humans useless to the euclide. Their soul strands cannot be extracted when a life shield surrounds them.

The life shield is visible to all Abyss Born and murdon, and appears as a pale colored glow, reflecting the current emotional state of the individual. Blues and green indicate a state of calmness or contentment, where-as red and black indicate emotional turmoil. Humans (who they are most often used on) can't see them, and won't notice that it's there. They will feel a slight tingling warmth come over them when the shield is first put in place, but it is otherwise unnoticeable.

The number of shields that can be produced, and the duration they can last for, depends on the amuni's rank. Higher ranking amuni can have several life shields that last for fairly long duration, whereas lower ranks (such as followers) can only maintain one, for short periods of time.

SEVERANCE

In order to aid them in their quest to protect humanity from the euclide, Amunuku gave them the ability to sever soul strands. This is does not come without a price, though. The euclides can return a soul strand naturally, but a sudden snap of the connection can mean permanent damage to the individual's psyche. The owner of the soul strand will feel after affects such as migraine, physical illness and nausea, and, on occasion, can be put into a temporary coma.

Occasionally permanent damage does occur, including memory loss, personality change, and dementia. This is rare, and normally occurs only when a soul strand has been held by a euclides for an unusual length of time. Because of the sudden and messy severance the soul strand might not be completely removed from the euclides mind. This means that some memories and personality traits will remain with the euclides, and the euclides traits may end up passing onto the human.

It is not an easy process for an amuni to cut the soul strand connection. Higher ranking amuni have better chances of removing the soul strand than lower ranking ones. But the euclides' rank will also affect this. A follower has no chance in severing the soul strand held by a puppet master. Likewise, a script writer has no chance in holding onto a soul strand against a pope.

Ranks

FOLLOWER

Followers are the non-magical aspirants of the amuni. They consider their position humble and look up to high-ranking individuals. Followers often flock to seraphs for protection. Followers can often be a bit sycophantic in nature, but, more often than not, they mean well.

Followers feel it is their duty to perform all the non-magical tasks needed to uphold society. They do the grunt work, the cleaning, the scavenging, maintaining of structures. Generally, followers are diligent and hardworking.

+ Followers can't create life shields or severe soul strands.
+ Followers can only learn a single level 1 magic.
+ Puppets have 10 LIFE and 10 SPIRIT.

ANGEL

Angels make up the majority of amuni on Anygh. Because of their limitations with using life shields and magic, angels don't often directly protect human settlements. Instead, they spend most of their time straying farther from their families in order to search out new humans to bring into the fold.

Angels are well regarded in amuni society. Their duties are important ones and their great numbers mean better protection for human-kind.

Because they are weaker, angels who choose not to engage with euclides are not shunned. Many still would rather fight any they find, rather than allowing future atrocities to be committed by the euclides.

+ Angels have 15 LIFE and 15 SPIRIT.

GUARDIAN

Guardians do exactly that, they guard. They often stay close to their families and settlements, to help protect the humans under their watchful gaze. They take their duties very seriously. Guardians are morally obligated to engage with any euclides they find, especially those who stray too close to human settlements.

Guardians are not required to watch out for lower ranking members. Their primary focus is humans, and others respect this, and generally leave them to their duties. Some guardians have been thought of as unsocial or taciturn because of this.

+ Guardians can create 3 life shields, which can last for 5 days.
+ Guardians can sever soul strands of puppeteer ranked euclides with ease, and higher ranking euclides with difficulty.
+ Guardians can learn any level 2 magic.
+ Guardians have 25 LIFE and 25 SPIRIT.

SERAPH

Seraphs are considered great leaders and are revered by other amuni. They have a great many duties to their species, in protecting humans even above their own families, and engaging any and all euclides they come across. Seraphs should seek out euclides to eradicate on their own. Being passive in the fight for Anygh will leave a seraph scorned.

Seraphs tend to prefer large followings of lower ranking members. They are social and naturally protective of others. Seraphs get along very well with other seraphs, and will happily share their territories for the benefit of others. It is very common for seraphs to form truces with one another.

+ Seraphs can create 5 life shields, which can last for 7 days.
+ Seraphs can severe soul strands of non-deity euclides.
+ Seraphs can learn any level 3 magic.
+ Seraphs have 40 LIFE and 40 SPIRIT.

ARCHANGEL

Archangels have godly status among the Amuni. It is considered a great blessing to meet one. While they are incredibly rare, many amuni choose to seek them out, to bring them into their followings. When encountered, archangels are often given many gifts and are treated like gods. Archangels are not humble, but they take their powers seriously.

Because of their strength, archangels often leave their family groups, and live nomadically as much as possible. Their purpose is to search out and destroy as many euclides as they can, leaving Anygh safe for the humans.

+ Archangels can sever the soul strands of even puppet master euclides.
+ Archangels gain access to their ultimate magic.

APPEARANCE

Exceptionally colorful and beautiful, Ascetic Amuni may be any shade of any color imaginable and are never just one, sporting glorious patterns and markings.

While mutations are common, ascetics often perform body modifications such as wing clipping or hair sheering to lessen the benefits of their mutations.

Baptism

APPEARANCE

Soft blue or blue-grey, possessing simpe white and/or black markings. Symbolic markings appear on the face in white, outlined in black.

APPEARANCE

Various medium-to-light greys and silvers, with intricate markings in pastel shades. Beliefs often sport white and/or black points, with fairly minimal black.

Beloved

APPEARANCE

Beloveds come in a myriad of deep red, burgundy, and brown. Their necks are always distinctly lighter than their bodies, and they often have dark, contrasting marks on their faces. Smaller markings in pale cream or white sometimes appear.

COMMON MUTATIONS

Wings of varying types and sizes are quite common, with translucent insect-like wings being the most prominent. Beloveds also occasionally sport a unique mutation of living flowers, which grow out of their hair.

APPEARANCE

White or flesh-toned with red brindle. Occassionally births sport black points on the face, tail, or feet.

Charm

APPEARANCE

Charms are smaller in size than other amuni spheres, and have a youthful air about them. They come in shades of bright pink and yellow, with white or cream colored underbellies and facial markings. Their eyes tend to be bright blue or green in color.

COMMON MUTATIONS

Short tufts of hair on the head, like bangs, are the most common mutations. Feathers in various places on non-avian animals also appear, as to undersized or vestigial wings.

Commandment

APPEARANCE

Rich browns or brown-grey with bold black markings, typically in the style of blocky stripes.

Domineering, strong-willed, righteous

Confession

APPEARANCE

Black, which slowly fades into white near the hind quarters and tail, or the reverse. Markings are usually blocky and bold, black or gold in color.

Compelled to speak their wrong-doings, Confession affinties are incapable of keeping their own dirty secrets.

APPEARANCE

Cream or pale brown, with small, delicate purple and black markings.

CURSE

If a covenant makes an agreement in written word, they are compelled to uphold it. They are incapable of breaking a pact once it's written down.

Horns, particularly rams horns, are fairly common.

Creation

APPEARANCE

Of a slightly larger size than usual, creations are always very noble and intimidating to look at. Their coats are dark blue to black in coloration, spotted with tiny pinpricks of white that give the illusion of stars. Very often they will also have minimal green (although rarely dark green) markings, especially notable on physical mutations such as manes and wings.

APPEARANCE

Light green, with silver and blue markings. Often sport white or silver underbellies and points.

APPEARANCE

Fellowships most commonly sport a combination of cool greens, blues, and white across their hides in various flowing patterns. It can be complex or simple in design, but is always a mixture of all three colors.

Antlers of varying sizes, and loose, long flowing head on the head, neck, and/or tail are particularly common.

APPEARANCE

Green, yellow, and/or red, with black and/or green markings. Markings are curvy and elegant, resembling vines or serpents.

Fortitude

APPEARANCE

Fortitudes are naturally large and muscular in build, with handsome faces and proud, staring eyes. In coloration they are soft grey with sandy markings. Their underbellies and paws tend to be lighter shades than their base colors, even becoming so bleached as to appear white.

Tail adornments in the forms of horns, spikes, and clubs are quite common.

Glory

APPEARANCE

Most Glory Types are violet, gold, and blue, but other colors may be incorporated in small doses. Colors are usually displayed in large spot-like patterns, with one color as the base coat and others overlaid on top of it, sometimes overlapping and sometimes not.

APPEARANCE

Red or black with bold, jagged markings in darker hues.

APPEARANCE

Justice types are bold and bright. Their base color ranged from golden, to orange, to deep green. They generally sport black caps or capes over their head, neck, and shoulders, as well as bold geometric markings on the legs and body. Smaller, lighter marks may appear on the toes and face.

Courageous, empathetic, gregarious, quarrelsome

Long visible claws or hooves on non-hoofed animals. Horns or plates on the forehead.

Life

APPEARANCE

White with pied markings of gold, brown, and/or green. Eyes are most commonly blue.

APPEARANCE

Mix of black and blue, with red markings. Markings are random and can occur in any shape, thickness, or area on the Martyrs body.

Miracle

APPEARANCE

Deep purple or maroon with simple black and white markings. Markings are commonly points and masks, but rarely bands will occur.

Addicted to silver. Miracle affinities have an insatiable urge to collect silver and often adorn themselves with silver trinkets.

APPEARANCE

Oath types come in various shades of brown and deep green. Their legs are darker than their main body, but they may still sport lighter colored markings on their feet and/or toes. Their markings tend to be very bold, rather than soft or gradient.

Honest, meticulous, steadfast in their beliefs.

COMMON MUTATIONS

Long hair over the feet (like that of a Clydesdale), and tufts of hair on the joints and chin. Ram and bulls horns occur with some frequency as well.

Promise

APPEARANCE

Rainbow gradient on a white or pale blue background. Occassionally rainbow markings can be so prominant as to appear to be the base color.

PERSONALITY

Wrathful, forgiving, trustworthy, committed, truth-telling

CURSE

Promises are bound to their word once given, and they must abide by the spirit of an agreement not just the "law."

APPEARANCE

Grey, with black, white, and/or blue markings. These markings are usually drippy and oddly shaped, giving Purgatories a rather disturbing appearance.

While wings are uncommon, they will always appear semi-transparent and ghost-like if found on a purgatory.

APPEARANCE

Solid white, most often without markings. Markings, if any, will be gold and minimal.

Redemption

APPEARANCE

White, with green and gold markings. Usually sport bands on legs and markings along spine/back. Always sport some sort of marking around the eyes.

Sacrifice

APPEARANCE

Gold or golden yellow in coloration, with tints or highlights of silvery white. Occasionally solid white markings, normally points or ‘irish’ are seen. All sacrifice-types, whether solid gold or otherwise, have flowing red markings. These markings appear around the eyes and on the neck most commonly, but also may be present down the back and sides.

Sheep/bull horns are fairly common. Somewhat less common, but more naturally occurring in sacrifice types than any other, are feather plumes along the spine.

APPEARANCE

Resembling parchment, scriptures are beige, cream, khaki, or very rarely white. They sport thin, spidery black markings that resemble written language.

APPEARANCE

Pink or purple with inky black markings in highly intricate patterns.

Serenity

APPEARANCE

Serenity types are delicate, ephemeral looking creatures. They come in shades of muted indigo to pale lilac, with cream and peach colored undersides. Their markings are not ostentatious or bold, but vary greatly between individuals.

Serene, mediating, blissful

Serenity types are often seen with leonine tufted tails and elegant horns and/or antlers.

Shame

APPEARANCE

Vibrant red or pink, sporting few (if any) markings. Markings, when they do occur, are black or green and bold.

Emotional, shy, withdrawn, worried

Can occassionally be hairless or otherwise missing patches of hair.

Spirit

APPEARANCE

White, with flame-like markings, silver being the most common color. Red, blue, green, and gold may also occur

Golds, silvers, and whites play across their fur in spotted patterns. Stripes are uncommon but not unheard of.

APPEARANCE

White, with markings of green(prudence), red(justice), blue(faith), light blue(temperance), violet(hope), yellow(charity), and/or orange(fortitude). Each color represents a different virtue. Usually one or two will be dominant over the others. It's extremely rare to get a Virtue with all seven colors.

Wonder

APPEARANCE

Navy, from blue-ish to purple, in coloration, very soft and soothing tones. Their coats are mottled and streaked with silver and soft aqua tones, giving them a “salt and pepper” appearance. Markings may be soft pink or yellow, and appear as very simple designs on the face and along the sides. Wonder types always sport an equal number of large circle or star shaped marks somewhere on their bodies, symmetrical on both left and right sides.

Wonders almost always have some mutation, including antennae (rarely seen in other spheres), feathers and fins on mammal animals, and wings of various sorts.

APPEARANCE

Dark gold with bold white markings outlined in black. Markings are often blocky in their base form with more intricate inner designs.
