Defore

CLASSIFICATION Sapient Alien Constructs, Abyss Born Subspecies
HOMEWORLD Anygh
SIZE 2' - 5' at the shoulder
CLUTCH STYLE Viviparous
DIET Omnivore

General

Not nearly as numerous as their the Amuni or Euclide, Defore started from a few individuals of both species that snuck aboard ships bound for the new world. A few centuries past, and, through inbreeding, rapid evolution, and murdon intervention, the defore became their own subspecies - breeding compatible with both Amuni, Euclide, and hybrids.

The defore continue to be fairly 'neutral' in the dealings between the amuni and euclide. Instead, they've become the most adapted to their new come and experts regarding native flora, fauna, and technology. Easily the most 'advanced' of the three species. This, accompanied with their ability to do trade and commerce with both euclide and amuni has given them a great advantage in moving up high in the new new world.

Defore affinities represent aspects of the natural, physical world, and are generally related to nature and ecology.

Ranks

NEOPHYTE

[ defore omega ]

Neophytes are the lowest ranking, non-magical members of defore society. They are looked down upon by higher ranking members, but not generally treated poorly. It is expected that neophytes will better themselves and earn a higher ranks.

Neophytes will often apprentice themselves to a higher ranking defore, doing all manner of laborious tasks for them, in exchange for teaching.

+ Neophytes cannot summon.
+Neophytes can only learn a single level 1 magic.
+Neophytes have 10 LIFE and 10 SPIRIT.

ACOLYTE

[ defore gamma ]

Acolytes are the most numerous defore rank, the 'average' citizen, and while they are not terribly powerful, they are often the hardest working of the lot. While it's important to a defore to continue to better themselves in society, many are content with the rank of acolyte. Acolytes may choose to remain near their family groups or branch out and become traders and entrepreneurs.

+Acolytes can summon 1 spirit per 24hr period, which lasts for up to 10mins.
+Acolytes can learn any level 1 magic.
+ Acolytes have 15 LIFE and 15 SPIRIT.

WARLOCK

[ defore beta ]

'Warlock' is considered a gender-neutral term among the defore, and is used for all sexes. Warlocks are fairly magically powerful and are well-regarded in defore society. To become a warlock is a great achievement. Warlocks are primarily tasked with protecting and maintaining the environment where they make their home. Their strength makes it easier for them to clear away dangers.

Warlocks often have small followings of neophytes who help them with their tasks.

+Warlocks can summon 2 spirits within a 24hr, which last for up to 30mins each.
+ Warlocks can learn any level 2 magic.
+ Warlocks have 25 LIFE and 25 SPIRIT.

MAGE

[ defore alpha ]

Mages are the top dogs among the defore, very powerful and quite the prestigious rank to obtain! Mages generally spend their time researching, crafting, and inventing. They are absolutely required to protect their homes as well, but primarily they watch out for the lower ranking defore and help them on their journeys to achieve a greater rank.

Not all mages help out of altruism, of course, some may take apprentices for the purpose of cheap labor, or even more nefarious needs. Most neophytes are grateful enough to have someone teach them, that they are willing to do unsavory work.

+Mages can summon 3 spirits in a 24/hr period, which last for up to 45mins each.
+ Mages can learn any level 3 magic.
+ Mages have 40 LIFE and 40 SPIRIT.

SORCERER

[ defore deity ]

Sorcerers are the greatest of the great, and are utterly revered by other defore. To become a sorcerer is the dream of many, but accomplished by very few. Sorcerers will often take on a 'territory', a section of land which they protect and upkeep with the help of lower ranking defore. Sorcerers very rarely take apprentices of their own, but if they do, those apprentices are treated with awe and respect by society.

Few sorcerers care to leave their natural homes and live in cities or settlements.

+ Sorcerers can summon 5 spirits in a 24/hr period, which last for up to 1hr each.
+ Sorcerers gain access to their ultimate magic.
+ Sorcerers have 75 LIFE and 75 SPIRIT.
