Personality

Bold, friendly, and loud, Betsanti makes her presence known wherever she goes. She's gregarious and personable, always trying to extend empathy to everyone around her. She enjoys making friends and being admired, and considers all her relationships - now matter how brief - important. She never forgets a face! While she possesses great reserves of patience and understanding, Betsanti is a straight-forward talker - if she believes someone's in the wrong, she won't hesitate to confront them. She enjoys mediating disagreements, especially when it leads to reforged friendships.

Deeply romantic at heart, Betsanti is always in search of a new love interest. Her love is bright, burning, and passionate, but often brief. She travels frequently and can't close her heart off to the wide world of infinite people. She loves deeply, and rarely loses her passion, but monogamy and commitment aren't in her repertoire. She enjoys the process of falling in love and considers romance one of life's greatest pursuits.

If there's one word to define Betsanti at the core of her being, it's "Hero." Protecting the weak and defeating the cruel are her purpose. She strives to create good in the world. Every action a means to make the Nexus a safer place. She's an experienced fighter, but sometimes charges into the fray without thinking things through. She's a risk-taker, particularly if others' lives are at stake.

Her boldness doesn't mean she's immune to fright. An encounter with Balespawn has left lasting scars on her memory. She's often haunted by the memories of that awful battle and the thought of facing Balespawn again makes her quake. But she will. She's nothing if not brave, and will face her fears for the greater purpose of creating a safer world.

History

A true paladin by nature, Betsanti spent most of her young adult life traveling the Nexus looking to pursue good and destroy evil. She considered herself something of a traveling hero, passing through cities and colonies to aid those in need.

Betsanti experienced many passionate but short-lived romances in her travels, and is always in pursuit of her next great love. She believes brevity doesn't impact their importance in her life and has never forgotten a lover.

She encountered Balespawn for the first time while visiting a steampunk world. Gehassigkeit Balespawn and some of his retinue attacked the planet in search of "The Ivory Prince." Betsanti witnessed the destruction of every living thing around her - living beings twisted and distorted to monstrous things. She took arms against the balespawn, but she was outnumbered and outmatched. Switching tactics, she gathered what survivors she could find and fled with them, leaving the metropolis to be razed by green fire.

Betsanti has since made it a personal goal to protect the Nexus from balespawn corruption. She found the Refugium by word-of-mouth, learning of its defenses against balespawn. She believes in the Refugium's cause (to protect endangered species across the Nexus), but more importantly feels she can gain the experience and ability necessary to defeat Balespawn through Refugium contacts.
