Appearance

One can not be entirely sure what Cassius looks like, as he is an adept shapeshifter and will willingly take on any form that suits his fancy. He most commonly switches between two forms, a wraith-like creature swathed in black, and an emaciated, grotesque looking figure of draconic stature. In his wraith form he is tall and emaciated, openly invisible to the naked eye and therefore forced to wear one of many cloaks in order to make his presence (visibly) known. Such cloaks range from a common, tattered black robe, to a long gown of white fur. Cassius has a wide array of garments, most certainly used for the purpose of confusing others.

In his malformed dragon state, Cassius reaches no more than 10 feet in height, his length three times that size, giving him considerable size, but no where near the sheer gargantuaness of the average dragon. He is covered in a tough, leather hide, rather than scales, and is pale fleshy tone in color. He is not four-legged, as most proper dragons are, but rather wyvern-like, in that his forelimbs are wings, large and tattered, but still fully capable of supporting him in flight (the process is slightly more painful than it would be fore a creature without tears in his wings).

In this draconic form, and likewise in several others, Cassius has no eyes, but rather scarred patches of flesh where his eyes should be. His mouth, too, is torn and heavily scarred, making speech painful, but still quite possible. When he talks several wounds around his mouth crack open and ooze, making conversation with him a simply delightful experience.

Some of Cassius' other favorite forms include that of a human leper, a naga, and a unicorn (although, not quite the same pretty and pure creature than one immediately thinks of upon hearing the word 'unicorn'). But in whatever form he takes, Cassius is utterly foul, and he takes immense pleasure in that.

Personality

Cassius is by no means a delightful person to take on for a bit of company, although he can certainly play the part when he needs (or wants) to. He takes a particular delight in deceiving people and obtains no small amount of pleasure from others' pain. He is, quite frankly, a deceitful little bastard who has very few morals and ethics when it comes to the treatment of others. He has a wicked tongue and can charm even the coldest hearts with a simple word or a perfectly phrased sentence. Although not attractive in appearance, he can bend his outward personality in such a way to make himself nearly irresistible.

Despite this there is no logical way to consider Cassius anything but selfless. Although he does believe himself higher than the average person, and will certainly take no pains to brag about his rank as The Prince's most faithful and trusted servant, he is completely and utterly devoted to his occupation. He is a servant, a slave, and nothing more than that. He may be an important servant, but a servant he is none-the-less. Toward the Prince he is ever obsequious and fawning, ever attentive to his slightest whim or most idle desire. Cassius will do anything within his power to please his master, and a more loyal servant could not be found. Cassius' deepest fear is that he will somehow lose his master, whether by displeasing him and being forced out of servitude, or through the death of The Prince.

Cassius' reasons for being so very in love with his master is no doubt do to his own origins. Cassius was not born or brought about by the death or decline of another, but he was created, rather. By the Prince for the Prince's purposes. It is for this reason Cassius is so strongly protective of his master, and will stand for no ill-words toward him. To insult Cassius' master in his presence is to achieve death. Cassius will stop at nothing to avenge the Prince, no matter how small the crime against him happened to be. To insult the Prince is to be executed.

The Prince also created Cassius to be foul. Although an adept shapeshifter, Cassius is incapable of taking on the form of any being without sullying its image. He can turn the most beautiful, purest creature into a puerile and revolting monstrosity. Cassius considers this both a curse and a gift, but praises the Prince for giving it to him none-the-less.

Despite is infallible loyalty, Cassius can indeed function by himself, and does not require direct orders from the Prince in order to carry out a normal day. Although he is happier when he is doing something the please the Prince, he takes satisfaction in his own recreation. Namely the process of seducing, destroying, and demolishing whatever prey he takes a fancy to, including other's of the Prince's court, whether or not the Prince has any reason to dislike them. Cassius enjoys keeping himself at the top of the dog pile and takes particular delight in picking off those beneath him.
