Personality

A forest deity of indeterminate age (indeed, he couldn't fathom his age in mortal terms), Chrysothrix has gained a plethora of experiences and knowledge over the course of his long life. Despite being worldly and wise (and beyond that, a god of all things), Chrysothrix is a humble, empathetic individual who never lords his power or intelligence over other beings. He is infinitely gentle in his nature, quiet and cautious around smaller beings, with a heart that bleeds for the smallest pain. He hates seeing anything or anyone come to harm, and does all he can to protect those around him. Unsurprising for a nature deity, Chrysothrix is nurturing, with infinite patience for those that approach him for advice for aid. He loves to watch both people and places flourish. His greatest joy to see others achieve their goals and come into themselves.

Moving to the Refugium has opened a universe of social experiences to Chrysothrix that was unavailable in his home forest. He's found himself to be an affable, gregarious fellow who enjoys the busy city life the Refugium has to offer. He's as likely to be found wandering the delightful entertainments of Janos City as he is tending to his woodland biodome. He can be somewhat impulsive, easily distracted by new opportunities or friends, but not so much that he would forsake his duties. Chrysothrix is always up for trying new things and is often the first to take the plunge.

While Chrysothrix can dispense wisdom as well as any long-lived deity-creature, and he is an excellent listener in all things, he is evasive about his own life experiences. He rarely speaks of his past and prefers not to discuss his own emotions (unless they're perky and positive, of course). He has trouble reaching out when he needs help and tends to bottle his worries up deep inside himself.

Despite his important role on the Refugium, Chrysothrix has refused all offers of taking up a leadership position and becoming a director himself.

History

Born with the birth of the first seed on his home planet, Chrysothrix has always had a great deal of responsibilities on his shoulders. He was created by another deity - a mother nature figure - and knew from the moment he came into being his purpose was to protect the life around him, to help his world flourish. Tended to carefully and eased into evolution, Chrysothrix watches his home planet go from a wet slurry of half-life forms to a beautiful, living thing.

He spent eons on his home planet, caring for it, watching it grow. Many of the beings gained sentience, and then sapience.

Chrysothrix was so involved in making sure the beings under his care thrived and achieved their own goals, he failed to see the dangers presented by their actions.

Chrysothrix' home planet was thrown into an apocalyptic disaster. All life was threatened. Even Chrysothrix' powers weren't enough to combat the damage happening. He did the only thing he could, he took seeds and soil - whatever clung to life - and fled.

He protected the few remains of his world with the core of his being, floating through the emptiness of space for years. He was eventually found by Sorin, one of the Refugium's searchers, and brought to the Refugium.

Chrysothrix quickly made himself a place on the space station, taking over the care and upkeep of several of the biodomes.

Abilities

PASSIVE NATURE NURTURING

Chrysothrix' mere presence is enough to keep flora and fauna flourishing and healthy.  This doesn't prevent diseases or illness from affecting those around him, as bacteria and viruses are perfectly natural and therefore also affected by nature nurturing. As long as he's around, conditions are always considered 'optimal' to the flora and fauna within his current biodome.

LIFE TRANSFERENCE

Chrysothrix can heal a living being by transferring some of his own life force into them.  He's uncertain about the limitations of this ability. No mortal has yet taken so much of his own life force that he's been adversely effected, but it's feasible possible that he could die from its overuse.

FLORA/FAUNA TELEMPATHY

Can sense the needs and emotions of all living things within his vicinity. While he isn't telepathic and can't read thoughts, his telempathy with living things is complex enough that he can often predict actions and desires.
