Personality

Stalwart in the face of adversity, uncompromising in his morals and goals, Orycetes is every bit a vanguard for his nation. He's ambitious in that he wants desperately to be immortalized as a hero and will go through great lengths to achieve this goal. He can be overbearing and reckless in his endeavors, taking risks for the promise of reward. He has no compunctions against one day dying to protect Lomeelas from Cassimir's scourge, and, in fact, revels at the thought. His lust for martyrdom tends to cloud his judgement but he's a difficult character to sway. He's stubborn and argumentative with little ability to empathize with someone else's position. Bleak has been a great help in this, with his far superior social skills, but even Bleak has occasional difficulty convincing Orycetes to compromise.

Orycetes will never abandon anyone who needs him and is often the first to volunteer himself for tasks. Nothing is too menial if it's done for someone else. While he desires grandeur he's happy to be a day-to-day hero for the people as well. Turning his back on someone in need would only tarnish his image. He truly wants to do good and make a difference in his world.
