Place & Time

There was something it needed to do. Something very important. Trick didn't know what - it never did - but the overwhelming sense of kismet was tugging at its soul, pushing and pulling in one particular direction. It didn't know where, not yet, but clearly something was happening and Trick was happy to be lead. The same feeling brought it to The Station, and it liked The Station a great deal. Lots of people. Many, many shining lights that no one missed when it commandeered a few. Thousands of lives all tangled up together in one chaotic nest of possibilities. The Station was exactly the right place for Trick to be.

Only, now it wasn't. At least for a little bit.

It needed to go...

The lights went away for a bit and Trick felt a shiver of cold. And then...

Then the lights were back. Bright and silver. People chattered all around it, loud and chaotic and lovely.

"Ah!" said someone with alarm, having just noticed Trick standing next to them.

It realized with a twitch of its ears that it was in the docking bay. It liked the docking bay. That's where it picked up most of its people to lead them around to places of fancy or fate. The docking bay was a good place. But it wasn't here to pick up a client, not today.

"You need a ship?" asked the someone - navigator Ahnika, the fates supplies.

Trick cocked its head.

"Okay, alright. I can do that," said Ahnika. "We're headed pretty far out, though. Taking a trip around to Lantessama, is that where you need to go?"

Trick perked its ears. Yes. That sounded like the right place to be! It popped into a playful bow and bounded past Ahnika, up the gangway of her ship.

She laughed, a little nervous, behind it. "Alright then! We leave in twenty minutes!"

Right place. Right time. Perfect.
