From the Mass Effect universe, a massive colonialzation ship sent off around the same time as the Andromeda initiative, but with the intention of travelling through dimensions, rather than just space.
Sails Between Stars is owned and managed by hanar and their drell companions, the project put together by Spemomac, a colonial primocrate who now acts as leader for the displaced "mass effect" individuals.
Sails Between Stars carries all races from the ME Milky Way: humans, asari, salarians, turians, quarians, krogans, hanar, drell, batarians, vorcha... and possibly even some stolen-aboard geth and geth components.
Sails Between Stars can host a population of a few thousand, as a contingency in case no suitable home could be found. Many residents have moved on to other places in the Nexus, including Mwari Station, the Refugium, and the Heimdall.
Mission successful, Sails Between Stars breached the veil between its universe and the Nexus, and now resides as a permanent fixture around the murdon planet Zar. Sails Between Stars is more a massive ship and transport vessel than a proper space port, but it can comfortably host a population of a thousand without taxing its resources. Many of the travelers have since moved on to different residences around the Nexus, including Mwari Station, the Refugium, and the Heimdall. In turn, a few Nexus natives have moved aboard Sails Between Stars.
Beneath the primocrate is a council who take care of resident relationships, law enforcement, life support maintenance, and so forth. This council is made up of a single individual of each Milky Way race, voted into office by their peers.
Sails Between Stars has allied itself with the murdon council of Zar and is in good relations with Mwari Station and the Refugium.
Sails Between Stars is largely a scientific and colonization vessel, where most inhabitants have tech or science specialties. These are not required of new residents, but as a whole the system is highly biased toward the sciences and boasts a number of excellent laboratories and libraries of information.
