Planet Zar: Nexus
Impression Rules
1. Stat sheets and stories accepted! Please make sure I have some indication of your character's personality and goals, as dragons at Shigan bond based on personality.
2. Candidate stats/stories can be hosted on webpages, forums, google docs, deviant art, dreamwidth, etc. As long as the information can be accessed online without registering to a website.
3. Roleplays between two or more people can be used as candidate stories. Please make sure it's obvious who is playing which character in your submissions.
4. Stories can be submitted in roleplay/post format, script/screen play style, prose, poetry, artwork, or comic. This is the Nexus of Today and we accept all forms of creativity!
5. There is no minimum or maximum word count/story length requirement.
6. Link back to Planet Zar (http://nexus.planetzar.com) somewhere in your submission.
7. Do not hotlink images. Please save and upload your dragon images to your own host.
8. Please include content warnings for stories rated above PG-13, or which consist of potentially triggering material.
9. Discrimination of any kind is not permitted, this includes racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc. This includes both in character and out of character content. (ie. I am unwilling to bond a dragon to a character who is racist/sexist/homophobic/etc. If your character deals with these elements in the course of your story that is fine, but please place appropriate content warnings.)
10. You may enter as many candidates to a single clutch as you like, but this doesn't guarantee they will all bond. This is especially true for clutches with limited eggs.
11. I reserve the right to reject any candidate/story that breaks these rules
Candidate Guidelines
1. Shigan Weyr is no stranger to the Nexus. Non-pernese and non-human candidates are completely welcome here!
2. Candidates of any gender and sexual orientation are welcome at Shigan. Please don't be afraid to send me nonbinary, polygender, agender, bigender, etc candidates!
3. Candidates with human-equivalent lifespans should be between 15-25 turns. Non-humanoid candidates should be about the equivalent of an adolescent or young adult for their species; mature enough to take care of a dragon but not so old that their dragon's lifespan will be significantly diminished.
4. Candidates should have no more than ~3 pets and not already be bonded to a dragon (or dragon-equivalent). Large pets such as runner beasts are discouraged. It takes a lot of time and work to care for a dragon! Dragons at Shigan Weyr do not multi-bond.
5. Expies and characters derived from established fictional universes are welcome.
6. Clone and AU versions of previously used/bonded characters (whether at Shigan Weyr or elsewhere) are welcome! I only ask that equal effort is put into each candidate and that stats/stories aren't merely a copy/paste of one another. What about living on Pern has shaped B'ob differently than Bobinwiel the high elf?
Impression at Shigan
Gender and sexual orientation have no bearing on impression at Shigan. Girls and boys have equal opportunity to impress greens, blues, browns, bronzes, and golds.
If you do not want your candidate to impress a dragon of a different gender you must state as such in your form.
Search Riders
All of Shigan's search riders are capable of teleporting through time and space. They have knowledge of the Nexus and will regularly search off-planet for candidates. Alternate perns and perns in different time intervals are all acceptable searching grounds for this team.

Discerning and judgmental, F'der and Thinuath are scrupulous in determining future-candidates for Shigan. F'der is a difficult man to impress and Thinuath follows his lead. It's considered good luck to be searched by F'der and Thinuath; most of the candidates they bring back to Shigan impress well! |

T'und is refined and genteel but leaves 100% of the search decision making to the cheery Ileancureth, whose kindness and altruism make it impossible for him to turn down anyone. T'und is excellent at reassuring nervous young candidates. |
