Personality
As petty as he is powerful, Korgym seeks vengeance toward anyone who's slighted him. He craves worship and reverence, with the might to back up his desires. He's cared very little for the lives of mortals, particularly land-dwelling ones, but recent events have piqued his interest. Even the waters aren't safe from destruction, after all. Beyond that, Korgym tires of the depths and being seen solely as a monster. He's stagnated. He seeks adventure now, something more than just protecting the continent of Vacillate. He wants to be known and loved for who he is, not merely the extent of his powers. Korgym eagerly chases new experiences and emotions but he has trouble empathizing with mortals. He's not particularly fond (or respectful) of the gods either.Korgym can be charming when he wishes to be and he's an excellent spinner of tales. He loves to embellish his already fantastic exploits. He has a keen mind, an intelligence and wisdom developed over centuries of existence. Korgym's keen observations often give him the upper hand in any game of strategy. Never-the-less he knows he has more to learn and brims with curiosity. He's surprisingly open-minded and willing to learn, but he has little patience and gets frustrated easily in the face of failure.
Despite his charm and easy joviality, Korgym's temper flairs quick and hot. He's violent without mercy, fierce beyond reckoning, and reckless with himself and others. He rarely thinks through the consequences of his outbursts until long after the damage is done. Fortunately, Korgym doesn't hold a grudge. He acts out as his emotions take him and forgives quickly once punishment is dealt.
History
An ancient immortal from the primordial depth of Lomeelas' vast seas. Korgym has gone by many names and titles - the Eater of All, Lord of the Depths, the Black Serpent, Destroyer of Ships, Storm Summoner.His history is filled with blood and violence. Korgym despised mortals and attacked every ship that tried to tread his waters. His existence was lonely, his name was dread, and he was unanimously feared by seafaring folk.
His reign of terror broke when he was approached by Alaram, God of Oceans. Korgym was eager to add the name "god killer" to his list of titles, but Alaram swayed his bloodlust with offers of treasure and worship instead. If Korgym became a protector of the oceans around Vacillate he would be treated as a god himself. Alaram brought him tributes of gold and statues carved in his image. Korgym was pleased with this deal and agreed.
