:: Might have trouble. :: he sent to Jeffrey.
A sense of amusement came through their bond. :: Very likely. ::
Shar hesitated.
The office door burst open and twin streaks of white barreled through, slamming into Shar like soft torpedoes. Shar grunted, but his many legs and excellent center of balance kept him from being knocked back. He grabbed blindly for one of the things and received a loud squawk as his hand closed on a furry arm.
"Oi! Let me go!"
"Yeah! Let him go!" a voice shouted from Shar's back. He felt an ineffectual pounding of suddenly humanoid fists.
Shar dropped Sakay's (or was it Hush's?) wrist, sighing. "You could've gotten hurt."
Sakay rubbed his wrist, frowning. "I did get hurt, you big meanie."
Hush scrambled off of Shar's back and hugged him around the middle instead. "Have you heard?"
"I've heard lots of things."
Hush rolled her eyes. "You're no fun at all."
Sakay bounded back up to them, sore wrist entirely forgotten, and slung himself on Shar's elbow. "Cyilume is back from carousing the galaxy without us and she's gone to Ryslen."
"Ryslen's a nice place," said Shar, dragging the twins along to shut his office door.
"Especially during winter," said Hush, waggling her eyebrows. "Y'know... the flurry."
None of them had ever attended a flurry, as participants or otherwise, but Shar knew about it. The (mostly) annual occurrence of a massive frenzy of silver and white dragons, set on the backdrop of snow and cheer.
"Is she flying?" Shar asked, finally. His sister had never before expressed an interest in flying, at least not to him. But it made sense. She'd outlive all of them and having the company of her own children would soothe the sting of immortality.
Hush and Sakay both nodded enthusiastically.
"McKale and Jeffrey said we should go cheer her on," said Sakay.
"Emotional support and all that, in case she's slow and no one wants to catch her," Hush cackled.
"She won't be slow," said Shar. "She'll do well."
"Are you going to come with us?" asked Hush, fair wiggling in excitement.
"Of course. Let me pack my things." Shar managed to extricate himself from the twins with some effort. :: Some warning might have been warranted. ::
:: I trusted you to figure it out. :: Jeffrey replied, solemn through their mind link. :: Are you coming? ::
:: You knew I would. ::
And with any luck, perhaps he'd be bringing a new niece or nephew home with him.
